Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)

●SLS technology uses a laser to harden and bond small grains of nylon into layers in a 3D dimensional structure. The laser traces the pattern of each cross section of the 3D design onto a bed of powder. After one layer is built, the bed lowers and another layer is built on top of the existing layers.

● The process is also used for materials like ceramic, glass and metals.

3D Systems ProJet 7000

●Utilizes laser technology to cure layer-upon-layer of photopolymer resin (polymer that changes properties when exposed to light). A laser beam, directed into the pool of resin, traces the cross-section pattern of the model for that particular layer and cures it. During the build cycle, the platform on which the build is repositioned, lowering by a single layer thickness.

● This is the first 3D printing technology developed over 35 years ago.

Multijet Printing (MJP)

●MJP or MultiJet Printing is an inkjet printing process that uses piezo printhead technology to deposit either photocurable plastic resin or wax support materials layer by layer.

●Multijet Printing is similar to an inkjet printer in that a head incorporates hundreds of small jets to apply a very thin layer of material, layer-by-layer.

Color Jet Printing (CJP)

CJP involves building a model in a container filled with ceramic powder. An inkjet printhead applies a small amount of colored binder to form a part surface. Upon application of the binder, a new layer of powder is swept over the prior layer with the application of more binder.

●CJP is the only process that builds in full color.
